緣  起

　　輔仁大學天主教學術研究院為促進天主教相關研究的跨領域對話，持續舉辦天主教學術國際研討會，以期讓來自世界各地的天主教學術專家學者們有一開放且具建設性的溝通平台，並通過此研討會的交流，提升天主教學術相關領域研究的廣度與深度，帶動台灣天主教學術的研究氛圍，並分享研究成果。繼第一屆研討會「理性與信仰的跨領域對話」（2009）與第二屆研討會「人、文化與超越的跨領域對話」（2011）之後，第三屆會議則將主題定為「主體際性與多元關係」。

    本次研討會擬邀請國內外學者專家從天主教學術的多元領域與學科對話的特性出發，以主體際性的理論為基礎，展開論述與對話。透過兩個或以上的個體分享彼此的主體狀態，我們對於世界的體驗不再侷限於自身的觀點，而能藉由主體間的相遇，來深化與闡明自身對於世界的理解。對於並非以基督宗教為主要宗教信仰的台灣來說，更顯重要，因為天主教信仰經常被視為西方宗教，一種「他者」。因此，本次會議冀能在天主教學術的多元研究領域，包括科學與宗教、士林哲學、天主教史、漢學、文學、和平與正義、倫理學、美學與跨藝術等面向，更深入地進行主體際性之理論與實踐之探討與研究，促成更多對話的可能性。

     Fu Jen Catholic University is committed to promoting Catholic studies through an interdisciplinary approach and the annual Fu Jen Academia Catholica Conference provides an open forum for scholars and professors to engage in dialogues and exchange their insights related to Catholic studies. The first two conferences were titled Interdisciplinary Dialogue on Catholic Studies and Homo, Cultura, Transcendentia: Interdisciplinary Dialogue on Catholic Studies. Maintaining the tradition of cross-disciplinary discourses, the third conference is entitledThe Third International Conference on Catholic Studies: Intersubjectivity and Manifold Relations.

     This conference is intended to create a forum for the exchange of ideas on the theme of intersubjectivity or manifold relations and explore the manners and modes in which subjects relate to each other as embodied beings. The sharing of subjective states by two or more individuals enables one to experience the world as available not only to oneself, but also to the other and elucidates and enriches an understanding of the encounter. This theme can also be extended to the inquiry concerning communication and relations between different cultures, societies and beliefs. The discussion as such is especially pertinent to the context of Taiwan, where Catholicism is usually considered a western religion. Fields as diverse as religion, ethics, law, literature, arts, science, management and their interrelationships between and within Catholic Studies warrants further theoretical investigation.
